How Success Feels Like

When someone thinks of success, they usually think of millions of dollars, mansions on islands, Ferraris, model girlfriends, etc.

This is not success thinking because those things are just the "end result" of success.  Those things do not define success.

So what is success?

Success is hard work.  Success is PAIN, whether psychical or psychological.  Whenever you go out and play basketball for 6 hours to learn one shot, that's what success feels like. Whenever you sit in front of a computer for a whole day trying to perfect one paragraph for your book, that's what success feels like.  The pain that you go thru to become better at one thing is defined as success.  The money, cars, and girls is just the result of success.

So one should not focus on the money if they are trying to be wealthy.  What one should learn is how to make the money.  How to endure the pain that creates money.  It is the same as saying give a man a fish (money) and you will feed him for a day, teach a man to fish (how to make money) and you will feed him for a lifetime.

Connections are Everything...

Who you hang around with defines who you are...

Why?

Your life will revolve around no more than 20 close friends.

Those 20 friends became your friends because of a commonality between you and him/her.  For example, if you like smoking blunts and you meet a cool drug dealers, you will probably become friends over time.

Because of that, you will used all your time/resources with those 20 friends.  Think about it, how many close friends/family do you really have?  So if you have a friend with whom you smoke weed, you will waste a huge quantity of time with that person.

And that person's 20 friends will also become your friends because he will, over time, introduce you to his friends.  And because he is a drug dealer, all his friends will also be related with Mary Jane.  He will not know any business men or successful people.

If your goal in life is to be the boss of a drug cartel, or anything else that's bad, then having a friend who does that will help you tremendously.  And vice versa.  If you just smoke blunts for fun, you will most likely become involved in the drug trade without even wanting to be in it.

So, knowing what your goal in life is (whether be a rap star, lawyer, etc) you have to meet people who follow your same path.  The more successful they are, or the more money/connections they have, the easier your goal will be achieve.

In that case, analyze your life.  What is your goal? Are your current friends slowing you down?  Do they have any kind of connections that will help you achieve your goals?  You will be surprise of the useless things you do with some friends, such as just "walking around in the mall."  Also, your friends "beliefs" will alter your beliefs...If you have a friend with whom you connect with by smoking blunts, and he likes rock music while you like rap (and your goal is to become a rap star) then he will slow you down by saying how stupid rap is, etc.  All the conversation about how much he hates rap will only slow you down.  Now let's say you dump this friend and meet someone who likes rap.  This new friend will gladly talk about rap with you and will help you analyze rapping in a way that you never thought possible.  Check out this post for more information on achieving higher learning levels.

Let Everything That Does Not Matter Slide...

I just learned how everything you do alters the way your neurons in your brain order themselves.

If you were to do something everyday, your neurons over time will order themselves to the point that you will not need to think to do that especific activity.  Then you will be able to achieve higher levels of learning for that specific activity.

That is why if you do anything that does not in any way helps you improve your life, you are shifting your neurons accordingly.  And I'm sure you do things, such as watching TV, everyday and by now you are in the process of higher level learning to waste your life.

That is why you must STOP doing useless things at all cost and focus on doing things that help you achieve your goals and succeedd.  At first it will be hard, since your neurons have no idea how to order themselves...but overtime they will learn.  However, you must do such activities EVERYDAY.

Logic Over Feelings

So it's been around 6 months that I have been trying to do become a raw vegan.  I rarely make it to DAY 03, and if I do, I will usually last a week before I give in to a Chinese Restaurant.

I am trying to understand why.  I give in every time I wake up from my nap or when I arrive from school to the house.  I just say fuck it and eat.  I have even told myself how food is ruining my life but my brain won't listen.  It does not distinguish between good or bad.  It just reacts on feelings or cravings, in this  case.  So I figure that the best thing to do it's to actually stop myself and act on pure logic, no matter how much my feelings are telling me to do otherwise.

Another tip I should follow is the POWER OF NOW trick which is when I get a though I don't like, in this case the craving for food, I just "listen" to it. I don't analyze it and I don't act on it.  I just listen.

My date with the ICE is coming in 5 days.  I need to change NOW. I can't HOPE for change...I NEED THIS AS MUCH AS I NEED THAT SPOON OF CARBS AND CHEESE!!!
